p. 104... We therefore re-crossed the U-Yu river and went down the path on the east bank of the Chindwin, sleeping that night in Myintha village. The next morning after a short walk, we found some canoes and, after searching for the owners, eventually did a deal for them to paddle us down to Tonhe where we arrived just after dark that evening, the 15th. Our first contact was one of the Government Marine steamers and barges on which we again met “Tarzan” Learmond who had brought his mounted Military Police across from Tantabin by a different route.”
