Used to bring us horehounds and carmel corn after her shopping jaunts down Wisconsin Ave.
As a preschooler when she lived in the homestead on 9th and Vliet she used to take me to the bakery to get brochen eaten with plenty of butter and currant jelly. She and sister Kate moved to an apt on Atkinson Ave during WWII. There she made a great frozen custard and lemon pies. When brother Ed was born I stayed there for a couple of weeks. Had the privilege that Christmas of putting up their tree. Used to watch Aunt Kate review her stocks each day with her magnifying glass. And now also under stand why my grandmother let me thread the needles for her sewing. Like my Dad - a very nice relaxed way about her.
