Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, (Rte 123) Brockton, Monday at 9am. Funeral Mass in St. Colman Church at 10am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Mrs. Winifred I. (Twohig) Whynot, wife of the late Carl Whynot died on January 31, 2002, at St. Joseph Manor in Brockton after a lengthy illness. She was 97 years of age.
Born in the City of Cork, Ireland on October 23, 1904, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Katharine (Long) Twohig. She was a resident of Brockton in her early years and lived in St. Petersburg, Florida until her move to Marshfield approximately ten years ago.
She was educated in Brockton Public Schools, and was employed at the Choate School in Connecticut for many years and was employed as a security officer at the Fore River Shipyard during World War II.
She was the youngest of the Twohig children and was the sister of the late Katherine McCaig of Marshfield, Emily Twohig, Margaret Bryce and Christine Lawton all of Brockton, Susan Graffam of Quincy and the late Nathaniel Twohig of Marshfield, Thomas Twohig and Charles Twohig of Brockton.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews including Reverend Thomas E. Lawton, C.S.C. of North Easton, Margaret Ofria of Connecticut, Richard N. Lawton of Framingham, Mary O?Malley of Concord, Sheila W. Stewart and Retired Judge James R. Lawton of Brockton. Aunt of the late Frederick H. Lawton. She is also survived by Attorney John F.
